It is totally up to you guys. Here is the quick story:
Was watching some YouTube stuff regarding U.S. carriers. I stumbled into
this one spot where some dolt puts up a clip and describes it as "Iranian
State T.V. shows UAV/drone spying on U.S. Carrier."
Usually, I can argue with anyone about most anything, but I am clueless on
carrier stuff. Anyway, this clip DOES show a carrier from an altitude of
about 1000 feet. The problem is that it looks to me like this is some kind
of mucked-up video taken at the time the carrier is getting prepared for
some kind of demonstration. She is decked out with all her toys topside.
If a carrier is anywhere near an active mission location, I seriously doubt
that they'd be airing out the whole ship. Besides, I think that the
defense system would have picked up on a UAV. Hell, does Iran even have any
UAVs of note?
Take a look and leave a condesending message if you like. I really hate the
kind of remarks posted there at the moment.

By the way, I forgot to include the fact that the poster of
that clip is in Iran.
I figure that he read about the Russian Bear's incursion and
decided that he would stir the pot with a little agitprop.
If you don't want to excoriate this rag-head yourself, let me
know about the video (so I don't sound like a complete idiot),
and I'LL DO THE REST.
Thanks again, you guys really are the best
(I've been lurking for years).

Yep, you're clueless, sorry but I'm not trying to be rude, but you really
don't know anything about carrier ops.

Not airing out anything, just standard load aboard. There isn't enough room
below in the hangar to store all of the aircraft. This looks like every
carrier I ever sailed on between flight operations.

The defensive systems probably did track the UAV, if that's what it was. If
the ship was tracked by Iranians, it was probably in the Straits of Hormuz
and the Iranians could very easily have been flying it inside their airspace
so the ship would not have done anything to provoke an international
incident over a video from a UAV. If you look closely there is and E-2
Hawkeye on the Starboard bow cat and F/A 18s on the waist in case they need
a rapid launch.
This very easily could be a real Iranian UAV video, but there's nothing
unusual about the condition of the ship or it's airwing.

Thanks for *most* of the information. When someone is being
self-deprecatory, admitting their deficiencies, really bad
form to respond in your particular idiom.

Your words, Heinie:

Well, you got a fair, polite and accurate appraisal from Scubabix, and
your reaction:

So is CNN and thousands of other US media, 'contractors' and civilians.
So, your point is.....?

You sound like a Cold War orphan, circa 1960.

" I'LL DO THE REST." ??
Not too bright...
Perhaps you don't know about Echelon and Carnivore?
You are likely on someone's watch-list now.
1) If you are military, you'll do nothing but follow orders.
2) If you are a civilian (probably), you had better not even contemplate
'doing the rest'.
Neither the Military nor Intelligence Agencies want your help. If they
did, they either would ask you or conscript you.
And a dollar to a doorknob, Heimat Securitat now has an open file on you.
