Imagine an Airbus A320 crash this week? And the week after that and for every
week from here on out. What would happen? There would be investigations and
outrage and it would scare a lot of people away from flying.

I read something similar to the paragraph above in an insurance mag recently.
That's how many people die each year in the US from alcohol related accidents.

I realize the comparison isn't fair but it does provide some though perspective
Does anyone know how many fatalities there are related to GA?

Yes. Government web sites such as the NTSB and Bureau of Statistics have
the raw data. If you want digested numbers, check out AOPA's Nall Report.

Traffic fatalities 40,000 plus per year. GA around 550 per year.
