I support moving the SMO operations to LAX and converting the SMO acreage to higher and better uses, thus improving the values throughout ALL of southern SM.

Ed, You have to understand that "jgrove" has an obsession with small
planes and their pilots. He has recently started posting after a long
hiatus.
I am not sure whether he escaped from a nuthatch, was released from
prison or just re-emerged from the Witless Protection Program.

Now that reminds me, M. Moore had to take 9/11 responders to Cuba to get affordable inhalers for treating their symptoms, my eyes even teared up watching that. Frickin US citizens couldn't get treated here efficiently.

Just remember SLOW DOWN, and don't steer too hard !

Brangelina can drive the extra long 6 miles to LAX, maybe some vacant corner there can be made into a "Platinum Club" for the glitter crowd. And LAFD has big foam trucks already for responding.

By the way, Mrs. Vishnu did NOT survive the wreck, but the Pilot Dr. Vishnu DID !
And speaking of Witnesses, Sgt. Drew of national infamy was a pilot who flew out of Clow and rumor has it that the missing Mrs. Stacy was placed in a blue barrel and flown and dumped in a rural location. Wives, be careful in Bolingbrook !

Looking at the map:
https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Santa+Monica,+CA&hl=en&ll=34.012187,-118.454676&spn=0.021486,0.042272&sll=39.739318,-89.266507&sspn=10.200806,21.643066&oq=sant&hnear=Santa+Monica,+Los+Angeles,+California&t=m&z=15
National Blvd can easily be extended down the main SMO runway to create a new road to the sea, the 2 taxiways could be used for driver training and testing to avoid seniors barreling thru local farmers markets. New National/Runway Blvd can then connect to Dewey St. or Rose Ave. to cross PCH and hit the Ocean.
