View Full Version : Penalitel anit-corrosion coating

On 2-11-82 my plane was treated with Penalitel (sp?) -- some brand of
anti-corrosive glop. I can't make out the correct spelling from the log
book. Have any of you heard of something that sounds like this?

It looks like amber/brown wax and is still soft in places where it's thick.
Too bad it was sloppily applied, because where it stuck there's no
corrosion.

Par-al-ketone perhaps? Don't know much about it except that it was
used for such purposes in the past. I think you can still get it, but
it seems to have gone out of style.

That's got to be it. The writing looks like "Panalitel-one". Now that I know
what it is, I can believe the 'n' is an 'r', the 'it' is a horribly written
'k', and the 'l-' is an almost crossed 't'.

I'd have never guessed!
