Now tell me why you should not be a member of AOPA.
So many glider pilots say AOPA does not support them.
But I have always heartedly disagreed.

I have been a member of the AOPA for eight years. The discount I
receive on my glider insurance for being an AOPA member almost pays
for the annual AOPA dues.

Many organizations and individuals have been very helpful...but
ultimately it is the "locals" that must do the pick and shovel work.
Soaring is the "canary in the coalmine"...when we are attacked, all of
GA is next.
All for one, and one for all!
Thank you AOPA
Thank you SSA
And Thank You CalPilots

I have no idea who these glider pilots are, I don't hear any
complaining about AOPA. Many of the glider pilots I fly with are AOPA
members as I am. The AOPA magazine alone is worth membership, then
there is the insurance discount (applied on top of the SSA discounts
with Costello) as others mentioned. More importantly AOPA provides
pretty good voice representing GA, including where possible out little
corner of the world.

Darryl..
I have had a few glider pilots say.. "AOPA is for powered air drivers", not
realizing that AOPA is for everyone.
And yes, Insurance discounts are a good benefit.
