Ipaq 3950 rom disaster

Well... 'disaster' is a bit strong considering you can buy these
things for under $50 now, but...

Does anyone know if

1) Ipaq 3950 rom can be flashed from an SD card, and, if so

2) what the procedure is?

My (spare) ipaq is stuck in bootloader mode due to me trying to flash
from vista laptop (don't do this...). I *think* I can put this right
with an xp machine (as always -- "windows" means never being really
sure of anything) but don't have one handy.

Did you try removing the battery? Just guessing, never had teh
problem, sorry.

Thanks Bob... I did try that, it doesn't work. Finally got my mitts
on an xp machine and that *does* work, as hoped.

Moral: do not attempt to flash on other than xp box.
