Flying in Mexico. Asking for harassment?

I am researching a flight along the Yucatan to Cozumel. Reports from
one website mention that at Villahermosa military folks removed parts
of several aircraft (circa 2005).

Is this sort of nonsense still prevalent at towered, mainland airports
in Mexico?

Checkout www.bajabushpilots.com. They have a lot of resources for flying
South. They make several group treks down there every year, and I think they
currently are on a trip to Central America.
