A change in the alloy of the DuraFix aluminum brazing rods now allows
us to install the Fat-Fin modification without fear of having the
extended fins warp or fall off.

See my blog (bobhooversblog) and Groups specific to VW conversions for
more specific information, or contact me directly.

good to see you vertical!

what temperature does the brazing rod weld at and what temperature
does it melt at after it is welded.( I assume that there is a slight
alloy change during the weld)

I've used the zinc alloy brazing rods on aloooominum and the problem I
encountered was that the aloooominum conducted heat so well that when
you got the next joint up to temperature all the others became liquid
at the same time. it was a bugger to keep everything together but it
worked.
