The article is about Val Paget's World Class World Record. It was in
today's Houston Chronicle on the front page above the fold with the
picture taking over 1/5 of the total front page. Excellent publicity
for soaring and for recognition of Val's flight. Val is a member of
the Soaring Club of Houston and the flight was made from our club's
field about 50 miles west of Houston.

“If you just lean a little, you can alter your course,” she explained.
“It's like using your knees to guide a horse.”

I'll have to remember to add this to my instructor patter.

Val is such an incredible lady! Not only is she the committee chair
for publicity and
promotion, but she makes record flights, AND she sails boats now too.
there doesn't seem much that Val can't do!
Thanks again for all your work for the sport!

Works even better with light helicopters. You can fly a trimmed up
Schweizer in forward flight pretty much hands off by leaning.
