Pete Williams was a great contributor to soaring. He authored "Self-
Launch! - Retractable Engine Sailplanes" and, along with Kempton Izuno
and Bill Seed, brought Tonopah to our attention as a great cross
country site. The ASA (Auxiliary-powered Sailplane Association) is
collecting funds for a memorial plaque at Minden (Pete's home base)
and those wanting to contribute should send checks to

Checks should be payable to ASA and include a note that they are for
the Pete Williams memorial plaque. Thanks for considering this. I'm
sure that many of us who were privileged to know Pete and learn from
