I am running Mobile SeeYou on an HP HX4700 PDA and having a problem
with a Bluetooth Screen which pops up periodically and lights a blue
light on the upper left hand corner of the device.

The wireless menu shows ALL OFF and this seems to keep happening.

The screen comes up showing

Bluetooth Console
Bluetooth Browser

Select a Bluetooth Device

There are no devices shown on the screen and it goes away when clicked
off only to return later.

I have not been able to find anything in the documentation to resolve
this. Anyone know the answer?

Hi,

See You Mobile may be trying to connect to the BlueTooth port for GPS data.
Go to Menu / Settings / Input (tab) and press the Port Settings button. Set
the comm port to port 1 if you are connecting to an external source that
connects to the power/data connector on the bottom of the unit. If you are
connecting to a CF GPS then you want to set it to comm port 6.

Thanks Paul.

It was already set to Com 1 and has been communicates fine with the
Volkslogger through the plug in the base.

Something else is going on.

Paul is very likely on the right track. I have two hx4700, one running
Windows Mobile 2005 and the other Windows Mobile 5.0 (yuk not
recommended) and I use bluetooth on both and done lot sof different
thigns with that. If your wireless networking connections are all
really off then this can only be caused by software running on the
PDA.

So the Volkslogger uses a hardwired serial connection. But "Has been
communicating fine..." does that means it still is or is no longer
communicating fine?

Do these pop-ups occur only when SeeYou Mobile is running, or at other
times as well?

Have you tried to set up anything Bluetooth on the PDA?

Have you played with Settings>System>GPS and configured the system GPS
service to use a COM port? (normally not needed, but could cause
problems).

Go to Memory>Running programs in the Today panel and kill anything
that is running.

Go Settings>Connections>Bluetooth>Services>Serial Port>Advanced to to
see what COM ports map to Bluetooth -- are any of those in use, esp.
by SeeYou Mobile?

If that does not help do a hard reset of the hx4700 -- see
http://thinkabdul.com/2006/04/21/hard-reset-hx4700-with-windows-mobile-5/
and do what is correct for your version of Windows Mobile.

Not answering the question asked, but I strongly recommend running
SeeYou Mobile off an SD card in the PDA--just download the zip
versions of SeeYou Mobile from Naviter onto your computer and just
uncompress and copy the files onto an SD card and plug that into the
hx4700. I also recommend running Windows Mobile 2005 not Mobile 5.0
because it is much faster on the hx4700, the old memory loss problems
with flat batteries with pre-Windows Mobile 5.0 versions don't matter
if you are running SeeYou Mobile off a SD Card. Windows Mobile 5.0 on
the hx4700 is a slow bloated pig.
