Beyond the F-2, isn't there anything they have planned? I would have
thought the F-2 project was a springboard for a plane of their own.

I did not know they had a stake in the JSF. It would make sense in light
of the carriers ... oppz i mean destroyers-carrying-planes they have
planned.

Yes, as aircraft carriers are still a touchy subject in Japan-too many
ghosts. They do have the plans for the Invincible-class CVHs, though. One
could call them "helicopter cruisers" but everyone would know that they would
be carriers in everything but name.
