The landing gear is even stranger than you may be aware of on this
aircraft. The situation in Germany during the time was so grave that
the nosegear on this aircraft was actually salvaged from downed B-24's
and repurposed.

That had to be an improvement on the trolley-and-skid landing gear
fitted to the prototypes.
