Hi,
I am trying to calibrate a customer's EW Model D flight recorder. The
calibration ran fine and there is a flight log in the unit, but I can't seem
to transfer it to my PC. I am using the EW Windows Uploader program. I can
connect to the unit and change settings in the unit and see the list of
flight logs in the unit. But I when I try to "upload" a flight log it tries
for a while and then quits and gives an error message "Trace upload
terminated by XModem error: Transfer failed". Near the start of the
attempted transfer process all the lights on the EW turn off. I believe it
is shut down.
It seems to me that if the software can request and receive the list of
flight logs, it can communicate.
I tried resetting the unit's memory by removing the 9V battery for a half
hour and putting in a new battery.
I have tried using 2 different USB to serial adapters and a PC with an
actual serial port. I get the same error message on all attempts.
I have tried the special version of the EW Windows Uploader "for USB
Adapter". That didn't help either.
The USB adapters I'm using work great with Cambridge and LX and ILEC
products.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
