View Full Version : See You and Windows 7
Mike[_8_]

Just loaded See You on a new Win 7 laptop, and notice that the 3D
feature while viewing a flight on a sectional map supplied by Naviter
does not show any elevations visually. The map is perfectly flat. Is
there a setting I am missing or does See You have a problem with Win
7?
Thanks

Did you look in Tools>Options>Flight>3DView
Make sure the show 3D terrain checkbox is checked. Make sure height
exaggeration is not set to 0.0 or something close to that. It should
normally be between 1 and 3 or so.
If that does not fix it your best bet is in the Naviter online forums.

Yes the 3D box is checked and the settings all seem correct. Another
thing I noticed is that the sailplane image is quite a bit higher than
ground levei when the program starts up.

My 3D view was also flat when I loaded SeeYou on my new windows 7
laptop. Clicking around the 3DView box fixed that. I think increasing
the height exaggeration helped.

Humor me. Go to Tools>Options>Flight>3DView and click the default
button in the lower left corner of the dialog panel. There may be
problems with this dialog panel at times where settings get confused.
BTW you say the glider looks high, SeeYou can tell you the AGL it
thinks the glider is at if you select View>Flight Parameters. Does
that number make sense?
Your PC should be connected to the Internet and you should hopefully
notice the SeeYou terrain data status showing updates running in the
lower right corner of the SeeYou window border.
Failing all that you may have a graphics card/driver problem. Best
place to deal with that is Naviter's support forums.

Checked the forums and there was nothing there that would offer a
solution.

The alt above ground is a few feet less than the fields asl.

Hi,
I suspect that Darryl hit the nail on the head with his suggestion below
that you need to be connected to the internet so SeeYou can automatically
download elevation data. It loads the data for the region you are currently
looking at. It is somewhat quick if you have a high-speed internet
connection.
