Paul has kindly posted this service bulletin on his site. I can tell
you that I am absolutely THRILLED to have to pay (shipping) to have
Dittel fix their screw-up.... again. My Dittel FSG2T radio was bad
out of the box when I bought it new. I paid for shipping back to the
vendor, from the vendor to his preferred avionics guy, and back to the
vendor. Eventually it went to Germany for repair (more shipping), and
it worked just fine when I got it back, but not after considerable
time and expense.
Sorry, but the money they get for these units should gar-un-freaking-T
better quality control. Of the 5 German made avionics bits purchased
by my club, and club members in last 5 years, ALL BUT ONE needed to be
returned. (3 Beckers, and one [my] Dittel. Now mine gets to travel
back again. Lovely.
Sorry for the rant.

welcome to aviation, be happy that you don't have to pay for the
repairs as well.
