Hello,

Could someone post a shot of a Huey, showing good detail of the fuel cap,
please?

Also... could anyone direct me to a site that sells them on the cheap... for
decorative purposes?

There is one that is a monument in a nearby park that my son is fixing up
for his Eagle Scout Project. Vandals have battered and sprayed it and appear
to have removed the cap in the process. If we cannot find one soon we will
cut tin and silicone it in place until we do. This would be an Army one that
the National Guard flew until about 9 or 10 years ago, I believe.

Thanks for any replies.

Thanks for the shot. That is a bit high for the budget that this project is
on. There is a donor who is putting up the paint tab, and it's a big one!
Going there with a request might not be the right thing to do. It also is a
little late in the project to look for new sources and, even in this day and
age, a sudden expense of $79 is a lot for a kid. Pity that nobody noticed
this detail when he made his original materials estimate. We'll cover it
with tin for now and maybe see if word-of-mouth around Scout circles brings
any offers. There are usually very few who make Eagle (less than 3%) but
they have a pleasant occurrence of 5 or 6 at once right now that is
stretching the giving spirit a little.

I also saw a site on the web that has them but they don't say how much and
they don't seem to be open during my off-hours.

Thanks again.

I would bet that you could put out the word among woodworking groups, that
you need a replica cap, and take some measurements that the cap fits into,
you could get someone to turn a replica out of wood.
