In a quick news email that was released the other night by Crain's Chicago
Business, it stated that you called the secret meeting of the CTA Board in
where they underhandedly raised their pensions in a closed meeting, Illegal.

The Chicago Sun-Times stated that Mr. Frank Kruesi, CTA President called this
item an "emergency" (raising their pensions can be an emergency???) and that
this was his way of getting around the Open Meetings Act, something you said
in a press release was "Illegal" and you then ordered the board to "reverse its
action or face enforcement actions." (quoting Crain's Chicago Business from
08/28/03)

Why didn't your office go after Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and Mr. Kruesi
after their midnight demolition of Meigs Field? Who in your office decided to
go after Frank Kruesi, but not Richard Daley?
There is absolutely NO difference between what Dick Daley did, what Frank
Kruesi did. As a matter of fact, I'll bet big money at the new Chicago casino
when it opens, that Mr. Kruesi did this because Dick Daley got away with it
without consequence!! Where does it say that The Mayor and the CTA President
are "above the law" Ms. Madigan?

What you've publicly stated to the media is that what the CTA board members did
at their meeting on August 6, 2003, was basically the exact same thing Richard
Daley did in his secret meeting to order the demolition of Meigs Field. Daley
called it an "Emergency", and this was their "out" because it HAD to be done to
protect the city from terrorists, according to the Mayor. Ms. Madigan....even
you had to laugh at that one! Daley later admitted though, that he destroyed
the airport because he wanted a park there, and he did it in the middle of the
night to "keep it out of the courts" and "avoid public discussion". I guess it
wasn't such an emergency after all, was it! Did you then seek legal recourse
then? No.

Just as there was no "emergency" at the CTA Board meeting, there was no threat
of terrorist attack from Meigs Field, therefore...no emergency that forced the
Mayor to Destroy an airport! You however, chose to overlook that, but call
attention to the CTA's Illegal actions? OOPS!

It seems to me that maybe Federal Investigators should be looking into the
doing's of the last session of the Illinois Legislature and our Governor for
their actions, as well as your office for your failure to enforce an arrogant
act by an even more arrogant politician....or was that ok because he's a close
friend of the family?

The laws in this state (and country) are to be enforced equally, without
prejudice...no matter who you are, or what political office you hold.
Do your job please.

As an Illinois resident and pilot, I feel the only fair outcome is that
Richard (Demolition Dick) Daley rebuild and reopen Meigs Field, and not at the
Tax Payers' expense, but this time, out of his own pocket for a change. Not
mine!
