The Cottage, Cat Island Bahamas

Ideal for Private Pilots, Cat Island is just 325 miles
southeast of Miami. Hawk's Nest airstrip (5000' packed coral/limestone)
is just over a mile from the cottage.

The Cottage is a great place for a vacation "Away from
it all". Cat Island is one of the outer Bahamas islands and
is quite undeveloped as a tourist spot. If private, secluded
beaches where you are unlikely to see anyone else, clear
seas with undamaged coral reefs below sound attractive to
you, then Cat Island is definitely the place for you. On the
other hand, if you are looking for shopping, night clubs or a
highly organized vacation, then we really cannot recommend
the Island!

However, in recent years there are more stores, with a wider range
of goods than previously available, for provisions, wine, beer,
frozen meat and fish. The prices can be a little steep so we always
suggest that visitors bring as much as they can from the mainland.

The Cottage can sleep up to six persons in two bedrooms and a large
sleeping loft (which is most comfortable in the Fall and Winter months).
There are two bathrooms with walls of glass looking into
a walled garden. A large living room and dining area open onto the
stone patio that leads out to the beach. The kitchen is well-equipped.

The owners, Duke and Shirley Reinke, have lived on Cat Island for well
over 30 years and have a house nearby The Cottage.

The Cottage is available for $1000.00 per week for 2 people with an
additional $100.00 per week for each additional person, including
children and infants, up to a maximum of 6 persons. Pets are not
allowed - sorry.

Car rental can be arranged in New Bight with several sources or at
Hawks Nest through the club. Immigration will come to Hawks Nest on
request - for an additional fee - which saves a stop at the New Bight.
