Dear G-102 owners,
The FAA has finally issued the an AD note covering the Grob SB 306-29
and TM 320-5 dealing with the replacement of the spar spogot
assemblies on the G-102 series gliders. Read the AD on the FAA web
site for full understanding of its details.
Parts are avilable, in fact I have a few sets here in Moriarty. Enough
for every G-102 effected can be obtained. The lead time for replacing
the spigots is 15 months from the effective date of the AD note which
is 14 Feb. 2011. Happy Valentines Day.
I thought the AD would be issued eventually but had no idea it was
comming this month. I have some planing to do before starting on the
actual work but should be ready about the time the AD becomes
effective.
I expect turn around time will be on the order of 2 weeks, and I'll
invest in what ever tooling needed to do the work in an efficent way.
There is a high probility that I will be the only shop authorized to
do the work.

I'll creat a mass mailing list to up date owners.
