Hi All,
I am looking to buy a good used radio in the $300.00 price range. I
currently have a Terra 720 that kind of works and would like to
replace it with something like a 760D etc. I am also looking for any
experience with the flightline 760 radio, good, bad, other. etc. I am
also considering buying one of those.

My next two glider radios will probably be Flight Line 760's.

We recently installed a Flightline 760 in the Club K8. I performed
the installation and so far I am pleased with the value. I have also
installed/used the Microair radio and like it very much.

I have sold now well over a hundred of the FL-760's and have installed 3
here in my own club (including in one of my own gliders)
of all the radios I had complaints on 2, one actually did have a problem and
the radio was exchanged no questions asked...the other I can guarantee was a
user/installer problem...since this is THE radio that is in my own
glider!.....all I can say is that every time I can called someone with this
radio they have answered !...I know others have tried to boo-hoo this radio
saying it was cheap, high current drain ect ect.all of this is IMHO pure
bunk!...It is lower cost, doesn't have a TSO (we don't need no stinkin TSO
for glider use anyway!) or the CE seal required for some countries (not
required in the USA) and is FCC approved and has all of the important
features of more expensive radios that any glider pilot might want, it is
really very nice quality, easy to install and works great...no battery drain
issues since it is already far more efficient than most older avionics we've
relied on for decades. Is it the best radio I can offer? probably not, but it
has been and is a great little radio for the money.
