Paul Bikle was a Director of NASA Dryden Research Facility at Edwards
AFB.
During his period of adminstration, Dryden was home to the Lifting
Body research, supported
by construction by the Briegleb family, which contributed science to
the eventual Space Shuttle development.
Concurrently, Paul was a contest soaring pilot, and part of the US
Team to World championships,
and later a US Team Captain.
In his personal achievements, he set the World Altitude Gain record,
which still stands.

His family and his sailplane will be gathering at Fox Field to
commemorate his life in soaring.
The terminal building has a nice cafe, and generous lobby area for
visiting, and comfort from
the anticipate silly February wave weather which is currently
blustering !

Come touch and talk about soaring history.
