View Full Version : China May Be Flight Testing A V/STOL Fighter

April 23rd 11, 07:16 AM
"We heard a little chatter about this earlier in the month;
apparently China is test flying its own vertical/short take-off
and landing fighter jet dubbed the J-18. According to my
old colleague Wendell Minnick at Defense News, the jet is
similar in appearance to Russia’s Su-33 carrier based
evolution of Sukhoi’s famous Su-27 line."

Looking at it with it's slab sides, it would be a shooting
gallery anywhere they used it. It would light up the skies for
radar and it's heat signature would be a beacon for every IR
missile both ground and air.

They made a really poor copy of the F-35.

The picture shown in the first article was a Yak-141.

I presume this is for their new/old aircraft carrier.
