View Full Version : ANN is biased ZZZJJJ

I have said all along that zoom is biased when it comes reporting the news
especially about those he doesn't like. The latest is his announcing of the John
Moody Award to Jack McCornack by the USUA. zoom states that:
"The most prestigious of these awards is the Moody Award -- named for John
Moody, who many consider to be the father of American
ultralighting." zoom goes on to say:
"Paying homage to the history and development of
ultralighting, the Moody Award is ultralight aviation's highest
award. The Award is presented annually to an individual, a group of
individuals, or an organization for their efforts over a period of
years. It gives them credit for their efforts and their significant
contributions or advancements in the United States ultralight
aviation community.
Some previous Moody Award Winners are Wayne Ison, Tom Peghiny,
Homer Kolb, Dan Johnson, Ultralight Flying! Magazine, Vincent
Vitollo, Boris Popov, John Ballantyne, Dr. Henry O.
Malone, and Dennis Pagen. "
Notice that one name is missing ..."mine". Hmmmm. Can you say bias??? :-)
I congratulate Jack on his award and it was well deserved.
In addition zoom didn't mention when a Hawk won an award at SnF a couple of
years ago but he listed all the other winners. He didn't mention when I was one
of the first 3 inductees to the EAA Hall of Fame. Those are just a few of the
most recent examples. But he'll sure write about g conn or a zoom free zone
sign.
I don't care that he doesn't mention me as long as he doesn't mention me
any other time . He has always been vindictive and biased and today is more
proof of it.He has been unfair in his reporting for years and continues
to try and pass himself off as the only honest aviation writer..What a phoney.

Just remember Chuck, every time Zoom has to do one of these stories he also
must remember that YOU have gotten the recognition that he so desperately wants
and will never get. Just like he couldn't watch that episode on Junk-Yard-Wars
and not think that "HE" should have been called as the "EXPERT". OH, that had

fact that he never even won a sausage shows he not fooling the people who count.

Amen Chuck, the only positive thing that ever could be attributed to
zoom is that he caused alot of good folks to become friends. You have
done more positives for sport aviation than zoom or any of his
puppets. You are a good man and a friend.

Thanks Frank, your right I have met a lot of good people because of zoom .People
I probably never would have met in the normal course of business. The RAH-15 is
group that I'm especially proud to be a part of.With one exception the RAH-15
has held firm against the crap zoom has done not only to me but to a lot of
people. Mainly I believe, due to a sense of right and wrong that the RAH-15
possesses and the determination to see that right prevails.
zoom used to be able to bully most people early on but you and a few others
stood up to him. Eventually thru RAH a lot of us who thought we stood alone
found out we weren't the only ones being zoomed and found strength to stand up
to him as well.
The list of those who have been zoomed is now long and illustrious and reads
like a Who's Who of Sport Aviation. "The proud the many ..the zoomed".
Now a days if someone gets the dreaded "Govern yourself accordingly" warning
or a terse "authorities are being notified" or the ever popular "I'll see you in
court!!" .Instead of cringing in fear of a lawsuit we laugh and ask for a "I've
been zoomed" T shirt to wear proudly at air shows. Now zoom is a caricature of a
aviator a sum of all that is a joke in the flying world. He's a empty can making
a lot of noise that is laughed at by those he's trying so hard to impress.
Come on zoomy did you really pull that many G's in the Sukoi? did you really fly
food missions in Africa?,do you really think people believe your a "test" pilot?
did you really make emergency parachute jumps from crippled planes? Did you
......Aw never mind you might believe it but few others do.
So all I can say at this point is I'm glad to know ya and glad we're friends.
Hell I'll go steal chicken with you anytime LOL!!

I think the best revenge in most cases is just to live better than
your enemy. I once had a partner who was rotten, was a liar, and was
possibly the most miserable person I've ever met on Earth. One of my
other partners, a good friend, felt like snuffing him. I talked him
out of it.
I simply told him that to let this miserable ******* live on was the
best revenge, since we were assured each and every day that he would
be absolutely miserable. He lives to this day. I'm sure too, that
he's absolutely miserable each and every day he gets his fat ass out
of bed.
If my partner would have snuffed him, it would have let him off the
hook. Not only that, but the responsibility for his soul would have
been on my friend. By letting the rotten ******* continue to exist,
it's the best off all worlds. We get to hear of him from time to time
and how colossally miserable he is. He weighs 360 pounds, on a 150
pound frame. He's in lots of pain and now has cancer. He's watching
his body rot away around a perfectly good mind. What better revenge
could there be for all the people he cheated, lied to, and robbed
throughout his life?
If my other buddy had of put a bullet through him 15 years ago, we'd
never have gotten this level of revenge. Nature got him...we didn't
have to. Ha Ha Ha.
I suspect there are others that you know Chuck, who will have ill fate
all on their own without you lifting a hand. Think of your enemies
for a moment now. Do you think they are having the FUN you are
having? How many guys get to play with airplanes every single day
like you do? How many people can make others laugh from the pit of
their stomach like you can? I laugh every time I think of you and how
you glued a thread to a fly in that catholic school in front of sister
Mary Holy Smoke, then flew him around like a U-control airplane. I
laugh every time I think of Tony Pucillo siting in that dirty old
hangar of John Johnson's and roaring from his gut in laughter at your
stories. Now that's priceless. How many people has Zoom made laugh?
Nah, Chuck, you have a good life. You have a good family and lots of
friends. What more is there?
That's why for nearly half a decade now, I've wondered why you even
bother worrying and troubling yourself over Zoom. Is he really worth
even one word from you? a man from the Hall of Fame. You somehow put
him on an even keel with you when you write about him here and let him
trouble you. I suspect Zoom is gratified when he sees that you are
still troubled by him. If he's not currently bothering you, I'd leave
him in the past ole buddy. It just ain't worth it.

That's Ok for a guy that's not doing you any harm any more. Just last week I had
a guy in the shop that brought up zoom and his articles and I had to try to
explain in a few easy sentences what it was all about. It seems that when ever I
try to ignore him,he's like a hemorrhoid and he pops up :-)

Interesting statement ,as I sit here I can think of only about 5 people in my
life that I would put in the category of enemy. zoom, jaun and conn are 3 of
them Hmmm, notice how they all have 4 letters in their names? And I do have a
lot of fun and I do have a lot of friends and I'm very grateful for that. But I
also believe in justice and for all that zoom has done to people I'd surely like
to see him face the consequences for those actions. He has never apologized to
anyone or accepted blame for anything he has done to people and to just let it
slide and wait for him to get his just deserts seems to be wrong.
It's like saying I know Saddam was a ******* and murdered a lot of people but
let him go and wait for him to eat his heart out. I don't think people like zoom
or Saddam have a conscience like normal people. They would think they got away
with it and sooner or later they would start the same crap all over again. zooms
doing it already with charging companies for ads they didn't sign up for.

True I have been blessed with that ability towards humor which even the nuns
grew to tolerate. Although I wrote lots of penance for my outbursts in class.
The kindest thing Sister Mary Holy Smoke told my Mom was that "Chuckies not evil
he's just mischievous"

Tony told me one time that he felt that the fact that I deal with zoom in a
humorous way rather then let him get to me is better then getting an ulcer over
it. And yes it was priceless having Tony as a friend and I still miss the guy.
>

That I do, I have a good life ,friends family etc. in spite of all zoom has
tried to do. However zoom has deprived me of a lot of income and tried to smear
my reputation. A persons good name is all ya got and he tried to harm it.
So like the Jews I will never forget or like the Founding Fathers I will stay
vigilant when it pertains to zoom. He's not my main concern in life far from it
but I won't let him fool new people into thinking he's what he says he is.

I feel toward him like a guy would feel toward someone that raped his wife some
things ain't that easy to put away. I don't fret or lose sleep over him
he isn't worth that and I don't even hate him .Hating would require more energy
then he's worth, but I would like to see him held accountable for a lot of
things. Tony was ready to do just that when he got sick and put the lawsuit on
hold. Someday zoom will get all he deserves and I just want to be around to see
it.
> I suspect Zoom is gratified when he sees that you are

I think it's maybe the opposite ,he sure don't like my zoom free zone signs and
I'm sure he won't like my ANN Free Zone signs. I think he's more troubled by me
then me by him. He wants me and others to shut up and not mention his past so he
can try to regain some support from the newbies who don't know any better.
I appreciate your comments but I feel fine and zoom doesn't .I know what your
trying to say but honestly I don't give zoom as much time as you might think.
You know if he ever got help and someday said "boy I was sure a jerk for a long

The problem with this Chuck, is that in order to get better from a

Well, that's the sad and ironic thing about Narcissistic Personality
Disorder, the personality order Campbell was diagnosed with back in the
early '80s. Sufferers are intolerant of any suggestion that they *might*
be wrong, and completely uncaring about any harm their actions have on
others.
On a side note, there has been some activity in the second Campbell SnF
lawsuit...some papers filed by Zoom's attorney last week. More details as
they become available.

On a side note to your side note .I got a ruling from the court in my favor and
the ruling was considered final . However conn's attorny re filed his appeal due
to a technicality. So I have to wait a bit longer for the final final ruling.
But my attorny says it's basicly a paper work correction that won't affect the
ruling. Some guy in Euless TX will probably not be happy
with the ruling some of the ducks. :-)

Campbell's attorney has filed a "Request for Production" in the case. This
may be just a demand for Sun-N-Fun to answer their Interrogatories (these
were filed three-four months ago...curious they haven't done so). Or it
could be a shotgun request for SnF records. Since the Request for
Production is listed as five pages long in the Polk County records, I
suspect that it's more than just a nudge about the Interrogatories. I'm
filing for a copy of the request, I'll post if there's anything
interesting.
Also, Campbell's appeal in an unrelated case has been dismissed. He was
sued several years ago by McNaughton and Gunn, a book printer. This was
apparently his *second* appeal in a case where he was ordered to pay $3,300
back in 2002. Since the initial suit also named Kindred Spirits Press, I
suspect this company did the actual printing of Campbell's books.

Most all the states have enacted the federal rules of civil procedure into
their local procedure. Probably the pleading you're talking about is a
request for production of documents. It is ordinarily required that the
specific procedural rule is cited in the pleadings, as in "Pursuant to FRCP
34, plaintiff requests production of the following documents:" (and then
vexatiously lists a horrendous volume of paperwork to retrieve and produce
for the requesting party).
Usually interrogatories are answerable in 30 days but time for answering is
easily extended on application to the court, or by agreement of the parties.
Four months is pushing it. If a party thumbs its nose at interrogatories,
the opposing party will ordinarily file a motion for an order requiring the
offending party to comply by a date certain. Sometimes the judge will issue
sanctions, like a fine, costs, and attorney fees for prosecution of the
motion.
I have seen insurance defense bar lawyers thumb their noses at discovery --
the general term for interrogatories, requests for production of documents
and things, requests for admissions of fact and genuineness of documents,
and depositions. Sometimes attorneys who are the worst culprits at this
abuse believe they have a special relationship with the judges which allows
them to carry on a sort of studied indifference to discovery. Indeed in
some jurisdictions it is a fact that lawyers commit all kinds of
sanctionable offenses against pretrial discovery, and the judges do nothing
to them, in fact look the other way. In these jurisdictions the judiciary
are more often than not corrupt.
I can't speak for Florida courts but suspect that although there are pockets
of corruption as in all states the Florida Supreme Court effectively rides
herd on its lower courts and its bar.

Now "that" will be interesting :-) But we'll see.
I noticed that it seems ANN is down to 2 writers some gal and a guy both of
which I never heard of. I wonder what happened to I think his name was Tim?
Another side note ,I went to the EAA's Voices of Aviation site to see who all
particioated. I did mine last Oshkosh and found an error in my bio .They said I
was an Aeronautical engineer which I'm not .So first thing monday I'm calling

Come on, he did that extensive test program on the CGS hawk.

Hey Ben....I put an electric prerotator on my gyroscope and it's the
best thing since sliced bread. I can even take that thing out by
myself now and get it into autorotation. Thanks for all of your help
in finding the right one a year ago. That, along with the battery
that Jerry Springer told me about did the trick. I fly the **** out
of it now. I just spent a week down in San Diego at the Four Season's
Hotel in Carlsbad. I wish I would have known where you were, I'd have
tried to hook up with you. All we did instead was go to the Zoo, the
Animal park, a couple parties and shop over on Coronado Island.
<Unrelated Ranting to Follow>
The flight back home today was wonderful. I filed IFR out of Carlsbad
in the P-210, went up to FL 170 and got 226 knots on the GPS at one
point. We were home in Vegas an hour later. I sometimes can't
believe that airplane. With all the construction going on down I-15,
we'd still be out there flogging our way back home right now ir we'd
been dumb enough to try and drive a car on that trip. I blasted off
out of Carlsbad, turned on the flight director and the autopilot then
went to work navigating through the clouds and manging the engine
temps, power, fuel flow, etc. Next thing I knew, I was over Palm
Springs at FL 170, leveling so we could spend 20 minutes cruising
before we started the let down.
That damn airplane is like a magic carpet, a private airliner. I was
pressurized to about 5000 feet in the cabin at max differential. We
even had time to put on some Xmas music (about 15 minutes). It's
like, 20 minutes to climb, 20 minutes to cruise, and then 20 minutes
to blow the cobwebs out on the descent. At 240 knots on the descent,
we were doing 4 miles a minute. We popped out of the clouds way up
there at about 8000 then I actually had to deploy the speed brakes in
order to slow down to the maximum landing gear extension speed.
I fly that airplane all the time, but even after 30 years of flying
P-210's and T-210's, I'm still amazed by them. I guess if I were
flying a Malibu or something cool like that, it would be like flying a
dream ship too. Even after all this time, I'm still goofy after a
flgiht like that. I'm sitting here in front of my computer now and
not able to quite connect back up with the surface of the world. My
mind is still up there somehow because of the extreme nature of the
experience. It's hard to explain. I figured though, that after 5000
hours of PIC and 40 years of flying I'd somehow get used to it. I
never have. It's always amazing to me. Instrument flying in
particular. I mean, here I was there at Oceanside at noon today under
a complete overcast and I didn't give it a second thought that I was
going to fly home in an hour or so, independent of the clouds by
watching needles move on a dashboard like a computer game. In fact
it's so easy to do, the autopilot did it for me. I didn't want to be
bothered by the mechanical manipulation of the wheel and pedals. I
let the computer fly it. It's better than me.
<end of rant>
Happy skies to all you guys and Merry Xmas.

Oh that's right just ask him !! But I didn't pay him anything. It was the first
time I ever saw invisible loops, rolls and spins LOL!! He's the greatest aviator
in his mind of all time now he's got to convince the rest of us :-)
Before you know it he'll be telling us he went to test pilot school....for a
week LOL!!! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

When he ambushed me on my cell phone after I sent the editor of Pilot a
"head's up" on Zoom, he was more than happy to tell me about his test pilot
school experience.

I actually have a diploma from the National Institute of Health mini-med-school.
It was actually more comprehensive than Zoom's stint at the test pilot school.
It doesn't mean that I am a doctor. The NIH folk say I can practice medicine
but I can only charge "mini" fees.

Badsanta,
We spend all that money... to let a bunch of circut boards and relays
get all the stick time. It's a real curse isn't it? Couple it up,
gaze out the window and start daydreaming. When I was younger, we used
to say: When we're flying, all we do is talk about women... and when
we're around women, all we do is talk about flying.
Then it changed to: when I'm flying all I can think about is getting
enough time off to work on my little airplanes. And when I'm back in
my hangar all I can do is think about my next trip...
(then in our spare time we read, argue, and joke about airplanes!)
Perplexing addiction this flying. Worse than drugs. And about as
expensive.
Merry Christmass all you addicts. :-p

You nailed that one, Larry. Got a copy of the Request for Production. It
requests, among other things:
1. Copies of all board of directors' meeting minutes for the past four
years.
2. Any SnF document that mentions Jim Campbell or any of his businesses
either directly or indirectly.
3. Any documents relative to SnF's relationship with the city of Lakeland
4. Any documents concerning SnF's relationship with their security company
5. All existing and deleted emails concerning Jim Campbell in any systems
owned or operated by any agents, servants, employees, officers, and
directors (don't know if this applies to volunteers)
6. Any correspondence between SnF and the Florida DMV regarding Campbell
7. Any correspondence with any agency of the US Government regarding
Campbell.
8. Any documents to any law enforcement agency regarding Campbell (between
2000 and 2003)
9. Copies all canceled checks to the security provider
10. Copies of all can celled checks to the Florida DMV
11. Any reports generated by or received by SnF which in any way touches
on Jim Campbell or any of his business interests in the years 2000, 2001,
2002, and 2003.
12. Copies of all documents SnF will produce in trial
13. Copies of all documents that support SnF defenses.
(Summary of filing by J. Kuhn, P.A., 9 December 2003)
SnF is supposed to respond within 30 days.

Thanks for the report, Ron. It's nice to hear I got one right. Ah, watch
the defense lawyers amass their billable hours. Could this mean gate entry
fees at Sun'n'Fun will go sky-high?
