This post is primarily aimed at Utah and New Mexico pilots who may
have had their Flight Logs messed up by current and ongoing GPS
Testing.

Did Any Utah glider pilots see any affects from the GPS Testing (NOTAM
ACC GPS 11-07) done at Wendover, UT from 4/28/11 to 5/13/11?

Have any Moriarty, NM pilots seen any affects from the currently
underway GPS Test (NOTAM WSMR 11-08 AND 11-09) at White Sands over the
past week?

We are trying to determine if we should be worried about this testing
for the upcoming Moriarty Super Regional.

This may also be an issue for the 18m Nationals in Hobbs later in
June.

Any reporting of real world effects would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim "EY"

Noticed a moment of lost GPS signal yesterday in the Owens Valley.
Perhaps there was more when I wasn't looking at the TV screen. This
may or may not have been due to any testing. It did not affect the
"trace".
I have seen a lot of lost GPS signal when the jammer testing was
being done at China Lake. It is only a problem if you lose the signal
while approaching a turnpoint, do not regain it until after leaving
the sector, and are not paying attention/doing something about the
problem (like making sure you have a log in the sector.)
WinPilot was pretty funny when it lost GPS for a while, indicating
wind like you cannot imagine. The wind arrow went off the screen.

Tim,
Unfortunately, there have been few flights out of Moriarty in recent
days due to high surface winds. Hopefully, we'll get some flights in
during the next few days and we'll be able to observe any effects due
to the GPS testing....
Thx - Renny
