I've seen several of these on static display at air shows since the fall
of the Iron Curtain, but have never seen one in motion. I have a notion
it is a sight to be seen.

Typical case of head up and locked. I was referring to the Russian AN-2.

It is impressive in the air and on the ground...

Biggin Hill Air Fair, 3 September 2005.

Rugged, certainly, but IMO beautiful is going a bit far.

It's been a few years since I visited, but back in 2005 there were as
many as seven An-2 for sale at Auburn Municipal Airport (S50) a little
south of Seattle. They ranged from "kits" to airworthy at the time.
Not sure if they are still there; I don't see them on Google Earth.

I'm not sure if you'd call these Anushka variants beautiful but they're
certainly interesting.

I've mislaid my notes on them so any details are welcome.

The one with the Polish markings must be one of the few jet-engined biplanes
ever tested. I seem to recall it was developed by PZL for crop spraying.

Do you mean what appears to be a Moth? If so, I don't have a photo taken
there, but might have one somewhere that was taken at Woburn or Old
Warden.

OTOH, did you mean this:

I meant the airplane referred to in the subject line.
