unique new VFR navigation plotter

Hi everyone, I Just got a new enroute plotter for VFR flying, and it is
amazing! If you haven't heard about it, it's made by Jeffron Industries
and they call it the Speed Wizard and it's great for finding out ETA's and
groundspeed real fast while your flying. It really is so easy I can't
believe it. It's also quite small, only 8" x about 2" so it fits in my
pocket. While this is the main function, it also doubles as a protractor
and nautical mile ruler, all in a very easy to read format.

I'd be happier if you weren't posting as a disinterested 3rd party with the

If you got a cool, new product, great! No need to use subterfuge to sell it.

One has to question if the product is really so great when the seller must
resort to underhanded techniques to sell it. I saw a recent consumer report
where people were complaining about being missled and cheated when they replied
to some of the ads they saw on Bandit Signs. (Those are the roadside signs
that appear overnight around here and are illegal.) My one thought regarding
that story was "What the hell did you expect, they are breaking the law to
begin with, why would they hesitate to cheat you too?" I feel the same way
about the idiot who posted this cheap shot ad, if he will resort to lying to
get your business, he will cheat you on the business.

Posting blatant commercial messages in a newsgroup is generally
considered declasse'. Doing so with blatant, transparent duplicity is
generally considered stupid.

Jeff, if you want a website to promote and sell your product, I can
build you one. Legit. Up-front. (I do websites and information
architecture for a living.) It may even help you overcome the
IMMEDIATE bad press in this group you just gave yourself. Maybe you
*have* just invented sliced bread. But *this* crowd is pretty sure to
never find out, because you just painted "DON'T TRUST ME" on your
forehead in neon orange.

But being nice guy and a good consultant, I'll offer you some free
marketing advice: Post another message here, in the clear. Apologize
for being UseNet-clueless, and offer to send a free plotter (not free
information) to the first five or ten people who email you - on the
condition that they send you a *private* email within two weeks with
their honest opinion of the device. Ask for permission to reprint
their comments (first-name attribution only).

That way they don't trash your product publicly (not without publicly
calling *themselves* dishonest) before you get a chance to improve it
based on their feedback. With luck, you also get some sound bites to
send (along with a plotter, perhaps) to the folks at Sporty's, AS&S,
Wick's, Custom Planes, Kitplanes, Flying, etc., for inclusion in the
New Products section.
