You have to remember the time,
magazine 7 NEWS photos were censored and/or modified to conceal
information to the enemy.

I've found a bunch of B-29 photos that have the gun turrets airbrushed
out, . antennas "removed" ,serials & markings blocked or blacked out. ETC:

some very well done, some, very crude & very obvious.
