It's about 5 years since I posted these pictures of Royal Navy aircraft
dating back to about 1939, when the RN got back control over the Fleet Air
Arm from the RAF. It was renamed the Air Branch but reverted to FAA in the
early 50s.

The RN got into aviation around 1912 and formed the Royal Naval Air Service
but this was merged with the army's Royal Flying Corps in 1918 and together
they became the Royal Air Force.

Some of the scans are okay, some are not so okay but you'll take what you
get.

Its come a long way since the "Mayfly"! in 1909!
I'll be at Eastchurch in May for the annual memorial service to the FAA
& RNAS as Std.B. for FAA Association.
