Yes, that was a shark you saw on a trailer headed north on I-91 this morning.
The stuffed white shark — it was 3,500 pounds when it was caught off Block Island
several years ago — was on its way from Northeast Taxidermy in Middletown to Cabela's
in East Hartford.
Capt. Greg Dubrule of the Black Hawk, a 65-foot party boat out of Niantic, was among
those moving the shark to Cabela's for display.
Renee Reid, who was driving north on I-91, said the shark caused some rubber necking.

Drivers are "braking and staring and freaking out, pointing, laughing," Reid said.
"It's amazing. It's awesome."
Before departing Middletown, Dubrule predicted the shark would be a spectacle.
"It's going to cause a traffic jam on 91," he said.
