A few years ago there was a 1-26 blown over at Tonopah, Nv. and lots
of people took pictures of the damaged glider. I never got to see any
of those pictures. Does anybody here have any of those shots or know
anyone that might have them?

I was there but sorry no pictures. As I recall the tie down was onto a
cable using S-hooks. I changed to locking carabiners after that
experience.

Gary, that was #032. I was not there that year, but I'll check the
club archives and members/owners to see if they have any pictures.
Yes it was an open hook tie down strap, the wing bounced in high winds
when a gust front came through and the hook slipped off the cable on
the ramp.

Yes, that is the correct incident. I got in the wreck and several
people took pics of me in the poor old girl. I would love to get
copies of those pics.

From what I know, Charley W. has yet to remove the one blue line on
his winglet that 032 deposited there on it's way to the grave.

The blue was still on the winglet when I saw A5 at JABOG last summer.
#032 had a great history.
