Don't the U.S. flags on the rope suggest that it was around the

The picture is backwards! Look at the prop. I think this is the XP-51
that EAA has in their museum in Oshkosh.
BTW-- George Baker's shop in New Smyrna Beach, FL has been restoring an
A-36 Apache (dive bomber version of the P-51A). It is coming along well,
with the engine now hung on it, with cowling. The restoration is
immaculate, with every questionable piece of sheet metal replaced.

May be the newt one is inverted ? (Look at the pitot tube, under each
?! wing ?
The "C" coded D Mustang looks right to me...
