View Full Version : VFR PWM to CLE Monday and Tuesday?

I'm watching a much anticipated VFR flight between PWM and CLE dissolve in
this horrible weather. I'm still holding out a slim hope for Monday and
Tuesday but I'm not getting as clear a picture of what to expect from the
prog charts as I can from the bigger and more regular systems.

I've got to decide Sunday on committing to driving. Would anyone with a
lot more time and experience watching the weather care to share what they
see in the crystal ball for conditions over the Green Mountains and New York
State the first two days of next week?

I fly out of White Plains, NY and have been going to Cleveland monthly for
the past 4 months. The current weather pattern is not expected to change
until Wedensday when the high over Bermuda moves off and lets the current
stagnant air mass move off the east coast. You can expect the same damp
weather we've been experiencing. Pennsylvania and central NY have been
under threat of thunderstorms the whole time. While not always numerous,
with the best times early morning but they have been around. The problem
with the early morning flights has been fog and/or low cloud cover.

If you're not IFR I think you'll be hard pressed to be able to stick to any
schedule. Even IFR it would be iffy with all the convective activity in the
area.

I haven't been watching the Green mountains as closely but I would think
it's pretty similar there.
