To everyone who sent so many courteous and helpful answers to my query on
Phillips head screws.
I just found a helpful Google Groups answer to my question on rebuilding an
old Cessna fuel selector. It doesn't stop the flow but will with new
O-rings. Ain't this just the grandest newsgroup ever was?

ps: We had a chili cookoff at KFQD yesterday and a jolly crowd. I cooked
seven gallons and came back with empty dutch ovens. Some beautiful
specimens flew in for our sunny gathering, despite a gloomy weather
forecast, including a jewel 180, a pretty Pacer, two Travel Airs, lots of
recently finished RV's (which are always a delight to the eyes and turn
faces everywhere they go), a covey of ultralights (including one with that
fascinating little 4-cylinder, 4-stroke drone engine in it), colorful
Thorpes, and a vintage Ercoupe from the museum. Wish you had been there to
enjoy it with us. We devoured about 20 gallons of savory chili --- hot,
hotter, and napalm.
