The Tony Bingelis books (available from EAA) are standards for all
homebuilts. Then there's CAM 18, an FAA publication (almost certainly
under a new name), and if you're building an RV, Van's has some good
summary instructions.
Other sources: take a class in aluminum construction, such as a
Sportaire workshop; and make friends with the locals in the EAA,
including the Tech Counselors and Flight Advisors. Also make friends
with your local A&Ps, or AIs.
Enjoy!

Current it is AC-43.13

EAA has republished CAM 18 on occasion. Don't know if it is in print
currently. It is different than AC 43-13

For the building part, I liked the Ladislao Pazmany book "Light
aircraft construction for the amateur builder." Available at
http://www.pazmany.com and also through Aircraft Spruce.
The to best things I got out of that book were:
* How to build a simple guillotine brake for leading edge radii
* How to make simple plugs and molds for fiberglass and acrylic parts
* Doing justice to compound curved acrylic transparencies is best done
by professionals
For the outfitting, I liked the Bingelis book "Firewall Forward."
Thanks, and best regards to all
