Yeah.. I need to get them smaller. Another problem with UNISON is that
I, as the sender, can only view my OWN posts as small images. I don't
know why UNISON does this, but it's a real pain and doesn't give me a
good feel of how everyone else is able to see the images…..

I'll bring future posts down in size…. I'm getting closer!! :-)

With my Macs I find the easiest way to resize any image for posting in
a binary group or for other online sharing, is to use "Preview"

Open any full sized image after being processed in CS5 in Preview.
In the case of the shot I am using it has finished dimensions of 2529 x
3720 and fie size of 5.1MB.

In Preview, from "Tools" select "Adjust size".
This opens a dialog window where you can enter your changes or use the
settings found in the "Fit into" drop down selection menu.
From that drop down menu I usually select 1280 x 1040, which seems to
be a comfortable size for most contemporary displays. Doing this also
reduces the file size.
I then "Save as" adding a suffix letter to the file name, I usually
just add a "w" which represents in my mind "web" and tells me that this
is resized for web viewing.

So my example is now 1280 x 867 & 277KB.
I can also add this file to my iDisc so I can add a URL for viewing in
non-binary groups.

BTW: you can customize the tool bar in Preview from "View" in the menu.
I Have the set up as shown in this screen capture, also shown is the
"Inspector" window which will give you details of the image dimensions
and file size.

Also if you check most of my images you will see GPS location data is
included, so for that C47 shot in my previous post, a check of that
data would lead you here;
