Humanitarian flights

Hi guys! I'm an italian young pilot and I'm looking for anyone that have
some informations about the way to join in humanitarian flights.Sorry for my
terrible english...

I don't know the situation in Italy but, in the US, you need first to buy a
bible and become very familiar with it. You should also join a church,
probably a fairly conservative one, and become active in it. You'll need a
few hundred hours and an instrument rating. In many cases, you'll also need
your own plane and raise enough money from your church to operate it.

Well, I have a bible, but I'm not very familiar with it. I am not a church
member. Does this mean I have to quit being an Angel Flight pilot? Or does
"humanitarian flight" mean something else?

Unfortunately, there is not enough information in your post to give you a
very definitive answer. Here in the United States there are more than 6000
pilots who volunteer under the banner of Angel Flight to help with
humanitarian missions. The consist of everything from helping patients get
to medical treatment by air, to transporting blood and human organs, to
providing transport of medicine and supplies in times of national
emergencies. Unfortunately, I am not aware of similar organizations
operating in Italy.

If you are interested in doing this full time for a period, then there are
a number of international organizations (Doctors without Borders, Wings of
Hope, etc.). I would suggest you contact AOPA Europe www.iaopa.org with
your question.

Here in the US, there are many organizations you can join to fly
humanitarian missions. One of the largest is Angel Flight America, which
I've flown for. (In case you couldn't tell, Roger was joking in his reply.)

I'm afraid I don't know about the situation in Europe. But you might try
contacting Angel Flight and see if they know of comparable organizations in
Italy. Their web site is http://www.angelflightamerica.org/.

I had aspiration to do relief type flying in Central America. My post was a
tongue in cheek reference to what I learned about the reality of trying to
do that. I'm trying to get to my 200 hours PIC so I can get involved in
domestic things like Angle Flight and have been invited to go right seat on
some.

Hi Gary! I thank you for your time spent to reply me, I took a look at Angel
Flight site, but such as all the others organization that I controlled on
Internet, they want not only the volunteer pilot but also the aircraft...
This is a problem!!! First, cause I've not an airplane, second 'cause I stay
in Italy...
Anyway, I thanks all of you that have answer me...
I'm looking for an organization/society with them airplane and not requiring
a Bible knowledge...
