The Soaring Safety Foundation Glider Flying Seminar on Wednesday,
February 1, at 6:00 PM at the Atlantis Hotel in Reno, Nevada has been
approved by the FAA "FAASTeam" as a "WINGS" educational safety
seminar. Attendees can register in advance for WINGS credit by
logging in at www.faasafety.gov

Go to the "Upcoming Seminars" button and supply the following
information: State (Nevada), Zip (89502), Keyword (Glider).

Admission is free. WINGS credit may also be granted by signing in at
the seminar.

The Soaring Safety Foundation seminars traditionally open the Soaring
Society of America national conventions. Presenters include SSF
Chairman Rich Carlson, noted author Bob Wander, FAA Designated Pilot
Examiners Captain Ron Ridenour, Captain Steve Dee and Burt Compton
speaking on a variety of glider training and safety topics.

When and Where: Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Atlantis
Hotel 2nd floor ballroom 5.

In addition, a special Soaring Safety Foundation (SSF) Forum hosted by
SSF Chairman Rich Carlson and SSA Chairman Al Tyler, will be held on
Friday afternoon February 3 during the SSA Convention to discuss
recent trends in glider accidents. Location is the Reno-Sparks
Convention Center meeting rooms A1 - A3, adjacent to the Atlantis
Hotel at 3800 South Virginia Street in Reno. Time: 2:30 - 4:30
PM.

Due to the importance of this forum on training and safety, no other
seminars are scheduled during this time period on Friday. This will
not be a lecture, but an open discussion, moderated by noted author
and CFIG Bob Wander. The SSA General Membership meeting will follow
at 5:00 PM. Admission to all SSF seminars is Free.
