I will be vacationing in Hawaii this June - have soared a bunch out of Dillingham on Oahu - got my CFI-G there two years ago. This trip I am planning to spend 4 nights on Maui.

I did a bit of research looking for an operation like the ones at Dillingham, where you can get checked out and fly on your own, and hadn't been able to find one. All I found was a tourist operation on Hana that hasn't replied to my emails.

Is there any good rental operator in Maui recommended? Assume the soaring would be great if I can get into a glider somehow there.

Thanks
Ross

We were in Maui last November and I checked in to the same thing, no
luck................the road to Hana is a day long journey, and it
looks like you get to ride shotgun in some kind of motorglider. There
is an outfit that does Trikes.

From my condo window overlooking Molokai and Lanai, it looked like
there were some awesome soaring conditions that way, at
times................but pretty un-hospitable for landing out!
