Did anyone happen to notice the OLC flights logged by Mark Rebholz in
the WWII vintage Liaster-Kauffman glider out of Arizona on the 21st
and 22nd? Great flights for such an old machine! Congratulations!

Hey man, I have seen and flown with Mark's glider up close. It is made
of sticks and tissue, a far cry from the high tech strong materials
found in modern hang gliders. Yes you can fly a modern hang glider far
on a good day, but it takes a set of stones and some good piloting
skills to take a 65 or 70 year old aircraft made of glue wood and
fiber out on a strong day. Way to go Mark! Phooey on the Ego punks
that don't recognize what he is doing....

i find XC flights in hang gliders (and especially paragliders) quite amazing too.

The amazing thing is: these are closed circuit flights! This kind of
closed circuit distance in a hang glider or paraglider is very rare
indeed...
