Ken Adelman photographed the entire California Coast from a
helicopter, placed all the very high resolution photographs on the
internet for free public access, and a snobbish singer tries to
cripple him with an abusive law suit:

STREISAND SINGS THE BLUES, JUDGE FAVORS PILOT
A California judge last week threw out a lawsuit filed by singer
and actress Barbra Streisand against a helicopter pilot for
posting a picture of her Malibu mansion on his Web site. The $10
million suit that alleged invasion of privacy, violation of the
state's anti-paparazzi law, and improper use of the image was
dismissed as frivolous in a tentative 46-page ruling. The judge
also said he would order Streisand to pay the defendant's legal
fees in the final ruling. The defendant, Ken Adelman, a retired
software engineer, had been working to complete a photo study of
the California coastline to highlight threats to the natural
environment. Adelman told the "Los Angeles Times" that he had
spent more than $100,000 in estimated legal fees defending the
suit. See the pilot's Web site (
http://www.californiacoastline.org ).

For daily news updates, see AOPA Online (
http://www.aopa.org/members ).

The unique resource altruistically provided by Ken Adelman is
representative of the contributions aviation is able to provide the
public. I have found his web site* very useful in studying attempted
coastal erosion mitigation measures and discovering the existence of
an underground natural gas storage facility in the proximity of a land
parcel I am considering purchasing.

Needless to say, Ms. Streisand has done far more damage to her public
image than any possible as a result of Mr. Adelman's publishing his
photographs.

I don't know what's uglier, her public image or her image in general.

Is this the Adelman of RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adelman) public-key cryptography?

No, that would be Leonard Adelman, not Ken.

No, that's Leonard. Ken is TGV Ken -- internet
implementation on VAX/VMS systems before
Cisco bought them out.

Ken and his wife Gab are both pilots and fly out
of Watsonville (WVI). Nice folks.

It might be productive to inquire here:
Kenneth Adelman -

He was half of TGV, Two Guys and a VAX, or should I say 1/3 of
TGV? See

for more information.
