Due to the popularity of our Rec.Aviation "Rogue's Gallery" of participant's
airplanes, the page has grown to the point where it was loading slowly --
especially with a dial-up connection.
Check it out now -- it should load lightning fast!

not really.
especially the navigation for the hotel itself seems to be not necessary.

and I still would rebuild it for trailing.

Jay: I tried several times to get a look at your "Rogue's Gallery" and got
a "can't find the server" msg. Problems?

I agree with Martin on this one. Much like designing the volume structure
for a UNIX installation, designing the "topology" or "geography" of
a website file structure really depends on the purpose. Since your
site is primarily image display, organizing the images into the
appropriate shoeboxes...er...directories/folders will make your
life much easier when it comes to maintaining. Much like cataloging
your photos into various books (trip to here, trip to there, birthday
parties, weddings, etc) it's much easier.
But be aware, this is not the *only way to design* a website file
structure. It really depends on what the website is going to be
used for.
