I am not sure who finds raw task distance that useful.

And the contest organizers have also started posting the tasks to facebook. They and lots of teams (hello Australia) have been making great use of facebook.

OPEN CLASS: Official Start 2:04 cst, you can see them jousting for the
start gate; best on the "tiptop" Spot.
Seems all USA pilots with the exception of Dick Butler, will be
tracked today. Team live audio on their freq.http://www.liveatc.net/

"Assigned Task"? "Assigned Area Task?". As called this morning they are all racing tasks. Look at the official contest Soaring Spot results page I just gave.

Looks like Sebastian Kawa had a low save (<50m). "Checkin' brands on cows" as some Texans say.

possible, also possible that the altitude reporting is off on the satellite trackers. Last week there was one day where we were sure that DB and a few others had had sub 200 meter saves but it was apparently a problem with the tracking system.

Way.Aero has him crossing 35 miles inside Mexico. Can't use any of the
3 sites I'm viewing to "watch" the race in real-time. Often you'll see
gliders stationary for 15-20min, then jump at Mach 2 to a forward
position. Where's the technology they had in New Zealand?

These sites are intentionally delayed so that the information is not available for tactical purposes.

True. And not all contestants are consistent with their Spot or who's tracker they're subscribed to. Some teams--located in their "hidden" offices--have pretty powerful base stations to communicate on discreet frequencies. The FCC worked out permits for all of them so they could "stay in touch" with their pilots.

This must be true, 'cause I was at one of the distant turnpoints today
(near Kerrville) and nothing made sense when comparing Spot tracking
with the evolving real-time flightpaths.
The uncoordinated delay of the Spot tracking makes for poor spectator
participation, it would seem. I understand about the need for being
stealthy for tactical purposes, but why not record all the pilot logs
the same and broadcast them with a coordinated delay (15 or 30min) so
we know how the contest is playing out in "semi" real time? Tivo-
tracking? With SeeYou, isn't it possible for us to upload all/some of
the individual logs and view them in 2D or 3D?

Yes SeeYou allows for multiple logs to be loaded and displayed
