Long AAT tasks assigned; all gates open, but so far no takers (2pm
cst). I think there was concern about a seabreeze front coming in, but
satellite looks like some nice cus and poss cu-streets developing
everywhere, perhaps until late evening.

The official WGC website has all but been abandoned. FB has some good
posts/info, Soaring Cafe is great. The tasks seem to be published on
the GoLive site first; LiveATC is working again today and you can
listen to the US team discussing strategy until the start.

P7 and WE (US) just went through the gates. 2:06 cst

keep in mind that team captains have 30 minutes to submit start times, and most of them take full advantage of that to delay as long as possible.

Yes, I stand corrected (bad early post from WGC site). Almost 700km
again for Open Class.

Good article by Ron Tabery's wife about history of gliding at Uvalde
(which does not have a club, by the way)

http://tracking.way.aero/wgc2012/

shows crazy tracks for German team Open class.
It shows a complete nonsense track for EB (Michael Sommer),
and VB (Tassilo Bode) missing start gate and first TP...

Sure would be ice to see what's actually happening !

None of the 3 tracking platforms have the same pilots or real-time,
just staggard stop-start-stop, which is of no value as a spectator but
blocks tactical use. I'm wondering why they organizers can't just
record all the pilots and run a delayed playback of 15 minutes or so.
http://www.tiptop.com/app/wgc/ integrates weather with the tracks, and
today you can see the cu pop up as the front pushes them SSE.

Except, tracking has stopped for DB (last report 1:24 ago),
and loading the weather overlay crashes Firefox on my machine...
Aaarrgggg...
