She could be jailed for 15 years for making a stupid
comment! Blimey.

Surely being taken into a back room, made to sweat for a
couple of hours of questioning and then sent on her way
would have been enough of a fright for her to not even
consider doing it again?!

Isn't bringing this to trial a waste of time and money all
round?

Before you waste too much time on sympathy for this idiot consider the
following - this wasn't just a slip of the tongue, she repeated the same
"joke" three times before incredulous security people. It has ALWAYS been
a criminal offence to joke about bombs on aircraft, not just since 9/11,
and usually people who accidentally make remarks are given a stern warning
and sent on their way. But this was no accident, it was deliberate and
stupid.

Even worse, she was on her way back to England to renew her visa so she
could continue to live in the US with her boyfriend. I wonder how true
love will cope when she finds out she's no longer welcome back in the US?

The e-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.

Or when she finds out that she's welcome back, but only at Leavenworth.

Great discoveries are not announced with "Eureka!". What's usually said is
"Hummmmm... That's interesting...."
