View Full Version : Which FlywithCE position recorder in the US?

There are two versions of the FlywithCE, 100 and 300. 100 is the original white version which I proudly own. A few guys in our club have 300's, the newer black case with built in USB and battery.
The FlywithCE website says that the 300 is approved in the US as a Position Recorder and the 100 is simply blank, not yes or no.: http://flywithce.com/recorder.html
However the approval document on the IGC website is dated June 2010, before the 300 was available. It does not specify FlywithCE 100, just says FlywithCE Position Recorder.
Anyone have anything definitive on which (or both?) FlywithCE recorders are approved position recorders in the US?

I think I've seen on the Wings and Wheels website that the FR300 is approved. I'm pretty sure I've seen the same info on other countries' distributors too as I was looking for an FR300 to buy.
What do the guys in your club think of the 300?

i've never used the 300 myself but one of our guys who has one has been having trouble getting a Green V on OLC with it. Not sure how much time he's spent trying to figure it out though.
I'm just interested in the basis of FlywithCE's claim that the 300 is approved in the US since the only approval document I can find is dated before the 300 existed.

Hello
I bought a CE 100 when my LX 5000 broke in the middle of the season a couple years back.
Was happy with it. Great support when needed from Slovenia. Do not need it anymore.
Selling for $100 with usb cable, cd and s&h.
