View Full Version : CAI302 Push/Pull Arrows Missing

My CAI302 was intermittently turning off in flight, so my sailplane partner
took it apart and found some loose connections. This fixed the problem, but
now the push/pull arrows are missing from the display. The audio works
fine. I'm sure this is a setting, but I can't find it. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Jeff

If the C302 is really working all except the LCD push/pull arrows then I would return it to Cambridge, but I'd carefully exclude more other things first...

Are you seeing a circular arrow? Then you are in climb mode...
How is the C302 switched from cruise to climb mode? If an external reed switch (on the flap handle mechanism) or toggle switch (typically on the joystick) then is the wiring or switch faulty holding the C302 in climb mode (short the pins to be in climb mode, leave those pins open and the C302 should automatically go to cruise mode when not circling)? Read the manual on this to be sure you understand how this works.

Do you have a polar entered? Correct for your glider?

Is it missing the airspeed input? Look on the screen #10 are all the inputs there? Do they make sense when flying?

If you are in the USA I can't imagine wanting to *disassemble* a C302, just return them to the factory for repair and/or recalibration.

Insufficient info in the original post to give a useful answer, but enough
to say it's no longer an IGC flight recorder - the security is trashed if
you open the case until it is electronically resealed.

If Darryl's suggestions don't help, I'd suggest the connections between
the LCD and the circuitry did not get properly put back together.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I'll check the items listed. WRT
security, it was out of cal. We plan to send it for cal in January. Is the
security reset then, or do we need to send it to Cambridge for that?

Thanks, again.

Hi Jeff,

I'm a Cambridge dealer and authorized agent for them. I can reset the
security on the 302 with help from Cambridge. I can also recalibrate it.
