I'm a glider pilot from Michigan. I don't own a glider. I like to travel around and rent at various locations in the US. I've just been to Williams Soaring Center. They have very very good ships to rent such as Duo, ASW24 and ASW27 all with ClearNav. SoaringNV in Minden also has great equipment, Duo and LS4.

I noticed Sundance in NM has an LS4, but beyond that, I'm looking for more places to visit and rent. I'm especially interested in higher performance, well equipped gliders. Any suggestions?

Also, is it possible to join clubs for a week or two? Any options in Canada?

Thanks ... Aaron

As for Canada, York Soaring Association will take short term members. As an (I presume) American, you will need a reciprocal licence, and a medical, but this can be a category 4 (self declared). You can find info on the club at www.yorksoaring.com.

York has on-field accomodation, and a DG 500 a K-21 and 3 Grobs in its fleet, and also offers aerobatic instruction. It is about 60 miles from the Toronto Airport (YYZ).

It is indeed a brand new K-21, and we use that and the DG 500 and the 3 twin Grobs to caoch cross country soaring, and the first two for the acro instruction. We have a couple of cabins onfield for accomdation, and a nice kitchen and showers to maek you feel at home, with, of course, lots of other members eager to share some hangar flying. Come for a visit.
