Yes, it is very interesting. They've made a really nice museum with
limited resources. 110% recommended.

Fuse of Gloster Gladiator "Faith" is in another museum. Didn't go to see
it. Have to go back there sometime!

Go for it! Lots of history in Malta if you like that stuff. Avoid the
taxis parked at taxi ranks! They will screw you for every $ if you let
'em. Book something in advance for a friendly (well.. friendlier...)
driver and a fair price. Edmond Garage is probably the best.

Thank you for the advice - this seems to happen the world over which is
why I usually catch the bus!

You're welcome. I enjoyed looking at your shots too.
It was interesting to see things had changed even in a month (I was
there in September). For instance the Bird Bog had gained its wings.
I don't know how long you have been going there but the Aviation museum
has been making great progress over the last few years.
For instance compare your (excellent) shot of the DC3 complete with
wings with these of the same aircraft one in June 2011 when it had just
been moved into the new hanger but before the wings were fitted and in
September 2009 when it was stored outside but pretty much in the same place.

My shot is excellent? Thank you very much for saying so! However, I
persoanlly feel that my photography is best described by the term
"snapshot"!

I enjoy pictures of aircraft prior to and during restoration much more
than post restoration (thus my pics of the junk 'round back) so I liked
your photos of the DC3 minus its outer wing. As an aside, that is a
thick airfoil! I am sure that The Incomplete Guide To Airfoil Usage
would engighten me about the profile used if I would bother to look it
up, but nontheless, I had not appreciated that it was so thick. Good
for reacting torques arising from MLG drag loads and engine vertical
loads I suppose. Plus a less sudden stall in an era when pilot training
was perhaps less methodical than today.

When will I go there next? A subsequent trip to Malta is unlikely in
the next few years - too many other places to go - but if I wind up
there again, for sure I'll visit the museum.
