I ordered a gas strut for a fixed panel ASW-20, the new 700N strut does not fit. The new strut has a shorter distance from the bolt hole to the shoulder of the cylinder.

Any suggestion where I can get one that fits.

Thank You,
Sean

- Bought one from Williams soaring after my original 1000 Newton lost
its charge. You will need to modify the screw in, rod tip, or you can
just use the old one.

Yep, a good trick is to leave the forward rod-end in place and just unscrew the strut shaft with vice-grips, then remove the rod-end from the new strut and screw it into the old forward fitting.

I don't know squat about the configuration of the ASW - but as I read
your comments I immediately thought, can't you make an "adapter" of
some sort for the offending hole to create a correctly placed mounting
hole? Either on the strut itself or where it mounts? It might make
the entire length of the strut slightly longer but that would only
translate into the strut arm compressing slightly further when closed
(which, of course, could be a problem).

Then again, I might be way off base. Just some random thoughts which
you are welcome to ignore.

@ landon...
Thanks for input, I chose to trim down the end of the canopy arm, easy and it works good.

Your welcome, I knew everyone else was out in left field about the problem you was having.
